Elite News | Crooks brace wins top of the table clash

Two goals from Aidan Crooks gained Spennymoor Town Under 18s a vital win against high-flying Durham City to bolster their title ambitions. Moors made a flying start and unsurprisingly took an early lead through Crooks' sweet strike from 12 yards. Despite Durham dominating periods of the game in the first half, Moors capitalised on their lack of cutting edge and doubled their lead via goals from Eltringham and Crooks in the second half. The result ...

Elite Results | Last gasp Turnbull penalty earns three points for U18s

Rhys Turnbull kept his cool to convert a penalty as Moors Under 18s snatched a late win with the last kick of the game. A sloppy start saw Spennymoor fall behind with two minutes gone after the defence failed to deal with a simple cross into the box. Elite News | U14s and U16s both suffer defeat

A sloppy start to the second half allowed the visitors to gain hope, and they reduced the deficit to two soon after the restart. However, Moors retook charge of proceedings when ...

U16s | Redhouse CA too good for Moors

Spennymoor's Under 16s succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Redhouse CA following a sloppy performance and a late penalty miss. The away side controlled the majority of the game, in particular the first half, and were ahead just before the break. A defensive error from Spennymoor allowed Redhouse to double their advantage in the second half, putting the game out of reach for Moors. However, they had a great chance to set up a tense ...

U18s | Ellison at the double as Moors stretch unbeaten streak

Two goals from Craig Ellison, who was recently called up to the first squad, saw off a spirited Darlington side as the Under 18s stretched their unbeaten streak to five games. Moors dominated the majority of proceedings and were two goals ahead at the break courtesy of strikes from Ellison and Joseph Blackbourne. Despite their superiority, Moors allowed Darlington back into the game when Calum Coleman reduced the deficit early in the second half. However, ...

STYFC Elite phase is a new and exciting phase currently being developed to test and challenge the best players in the youth system and the local area. The idea is that talented players will be rewarded with extra football and stretched through additional training.

The phase was particularly successful with the new U15s team last year who went on to win the league and cup double in their first year. We hope to replicate that success with our U14 side and extend that to all 11-a-side teams in the near future.
